Malik Anthony Nembhard is a sole practitioner focused on Employment Law, Civil Litigation, and Sports & Entertainment. Before establishing his own firm, he trained and practised across some of Toronto's leading entertainment, media, and litigation boutiques; he brings that depth to every file he takes on.
His litigation practice covers the full arc of civil and employment matters, from pleadings and production through mediation and settlement, across the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Divisional Court, and various administrative tribunals. In the sports and entertainment space, he advises on commercial transactions, intellectual property, and disputes, and serves as Counsel at Lucentem Sports & Entertainment Law PC.
Before being called to the bar, he worked in business and legal affairs for a Canadian production company, coordinating with U.S. studio counsel on talent agreements and distribution matters, and served as associate producer on a nationally broadcast television series. Since 2022, he has contributed to LexisNexis Canada's Practical Guidance platform as a Legal Editor across litigation, IP, corporate, and privacy practice areas.
He holds a Juris Doctor from the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University, recipient of the Black Excellence Award and the Trail Blazer Award, and an Honours B.A. in Criminology and Sociology with a Minor in Social Justice from the University of Windsor. Called to the Bar of Ontario, 2025.
